I like to think of this record as a fine whiskey after cask-oak aging. Whiskey in its infancy is more wild and more accepted among the younger generation because of its accessibility and uncommon tradition from that of their parents. Enter: the shins. In their younger albums, there was a rebellious edge to the music that most fans have clinged to. When trying to make the switch from the weaker fermented alcohol to the fine, rich gentleman's drink it is a difficult transition. That being said, as a purveyor of fine whiskey, I like to think of this new record as a delicious brew that is deserving of stones instead of ice. It's time to refine ourselves, friends, and indulge in the good stuff (aka. Port of Morrow).

Absolutely excellent discussion. Well supported with significant background. How exciting to hear a young adult strongly articulate support for self-responsibility. After 23 years of teaching Reproductive Health where the notion of someone else taking responsibility for my behavior was a common desire, I'm truly hopeful we have begun to see a more responsible generation of students emerging.

Equally significant was the discussion on Religion and freedom. How refreshing!

I think parents will be very happy to hear that their hard-earned money will be used on renting movies and games that if not returned on time accumulates late fees like crazy. From a student point of view, I understand the desire but are parents really condoning this with their support? I got Blockbuster@ Home after hearing about it from a colleague at Dish since all games, movies, and live streaming are all a part of the service without any late fees or due dates. I got my son an iPad2 for getting fantastic grades this past year and he can access our service with his iPad2 through our sling adapter connected to our DVR and internet. This seems far more realistic than what might happen if his rentals got out of control by mistake.

FTA: "At home, 8,775 people were killed by firearms in 2010. That’s an average of 24 people every day dying from a gunshot."

Guns save 2,191 lives every day. That's almost 800,000 lives saved every year by guns.

A gun-free zone, like the FC campus, does nothing but tell criminals that no one here can defend themselves. Prohibiting guns only stops honest law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves and those around them should the need arise.

Oh, so much wrong with this column...

First, it is not a woman's right to demand someone else provide her with contraception. I don't care if a woman wants to be promiscuous, but if it is her right to have as much sex as she'd like, then it is her responsibility to ensure she has protection if she feels she needs it. Only you can exercise your rights. To demand others provide for you is tyranny.

The comment about the other uses besides safe sex is moot. Ms. Fluke is, or has been, an activist for Reproductive Rights.

Second, the hypocrisy is glaring. Bill Mahr called Sarah Palin a s**t and a c**t yet you say nothing about that. In fact, the left-wing media and all Democrats who have weighed in on Rush Limbaugh remain silent when questioned about the Bill Mahr double standard. Typical of Liberals. DO as I say, not as I do.

Finally, you are doing exactly what you condemn Rush Limbaugh for doing. You are bashing his Free Speech right simply because you don't like what he said. (I'd bet you voted for Obama. That's how ObamaBots act.)
